I can now feel the summer vibe here but let me share you a side trip just last year's summer. Of course, I know it is too late for this but as I always say, BETTER LATE THAN NEVER because there's no late for everything. Only regrets. Well now, back to the post.
I, together with the sisters and brotha-in-law, we went to Nagoya's public aquarium. It is located in a part of Nagoya Port, one of the largest port in Japan. The other part is for the Garden Pier Green Park, but we didn't able to go there that time. Maybe next time when money and time allows.
The aquarium is divided into 2 buildings, the North ans South. In the North building, this is where the marine mammals like the dolphins(there's a dolphin show here...), the white whales or what you called belugas and some killer whales that will amaze you of their environment. In the opposite building, the South, this is where you can find 350 species of sea animal which counts to almost 30,000 animals that traditionally resides in Japan and the cooler areas like the South Pole. This is where you can see different species of fishes. Also, this is where the penguin area is if you want to see those cute creatures.
This place is good not only for children and students but everyone will enjoy here. Family, couples, children at heart, anyone, will learn something or two. A must visit when you're in Nagoya area.
The aquarium is open everyday except Mondays and if Monday is a holiday, they will be closed the following day. It is open during the Golden Week period. from July-September, and during the spring/winter vacation season(Haru/Fuyu Yasumi)*. Also, they will be temporarily close at the end of January for maintenance (subject to change without prior notice).
